can confirm. I used to work there serving tables a few years back. place blew dick, didnt like the clientele or 80% of the people working there. Everyone there is there for the long run trying to make it a career and not just a job. i quit after a couple months.
I actually went in there last night for a to go order and forgot how overpriced it was.

Bar area only there, good beers and the bar tenders are the best servers in the place.

I worked there for 5-6 months in 2006. One of the shittiest jobs I've had.

Last time we went to Chimes East, the waitress kept asking if we had it before when we ordered things like gumbo. Did it to the whole table. So we asked what the deal was and she said they were having such a bad problem with people ordering and eating food and then claiming they don't like it that they started insisting on samples to anyone who ordered soup/gumbo without having had it before.

That's the Willie's issue I was referring to earlier. It's a shame when you have to enact policies like that to keep from hemorrhaging money due to those shitbags.

Unfortunately, management doesn't print out a new menu every time they replace a beer, and they have to replace beers frequently.
I don't bother with the printed menu anymore. They stay on top of updating their beer menu on Untappd and Taphunter. I feel like a weirdo flipping through my phone at the bar, but I cut down on my frustration and disappointment levels.

The gumbo is one thing I really like at The Chimes; it's my favorite gumbo in town (although sometimes it's too thick)

For the last several months when I would go to their beer menu, it showed it had last been updated in OCT of 2016. I just checked the website again, and now see that it has been updated. Thanks!

Went last Saturday for lunch. Sat in bar area. Asked waitress what something new and good they have as far as IPA's go. Her response..."What's an IPA?" Knew I was in trouble then. Asked for beer menu. It was super old and not up to date. Looked on beermenus.com and it was out of date. Paid $10 for a Jucifer. Brother walked in about a half hour later and asked for a couple saison suggestions. Waitress again with her dumfound face..."What's a saison?"
WTF are you doing working the bar area if you don't know your beers let alone that there is a difference in types of beers.

They've been on untapptd since December, it updates daily

Seems from my following them they keep their lists at all locations pretty current on-line. Used to be BeerMenus now I think it's all on Untappd.
I think like Jones said, they do a lot of things well, I just can't deal with the clientele after the sun goes down at East. LSU FTW even though it's further to drive.

Chimes East doesn't come close to north campus location. Server had no clue what beers they had and beer list was woefully out of date. Went thru three selections before I chose a beer that they actually had.
