I ate here about a year ago. Service was horrible and food mediocre. Granted, getting employees was a challenge back then. My wife wanted to go back today, so I relented.
I was impressed with the service and quick kitchen turnaround time.
The food was really good too.

All the solid spots to eat in Lafayette and you still picked Chilis? AND posted a review about it?

Especially in a culinary Mecca like Lafayette, where you can boiled crawfish with the seasoning on top

I'm not a big chain place person either, but you can get good food at a chain. I find it to be hit or miss and not as consistent as a locally owned place.

In the 90's, Chili's on Pinhook was peak chain restaurant. Someone once told me it was the busiest Chili’s in the US. I doubt it was true but it was awesome to my teenage palate.

Probably a better deal than picking up Wendy's/Arby's/Chick Fil A, et al. Fast food is just as expensive as a sit down chain at this point, especially if you don't order drinks.

It was the Ambassador location.
Decent lunch menu from 11-4.

There’s nothing wrong with Chili’s.

At this point in my life, I go to Chilis once in a blue moon for nostalgia reasons. And the fajitas

Fast food is most certainly as expensive, especially when you pay a company to bring it to your home. I live in the backwoods of SE Louisiana so the delivery isn’t an option for us, but I’ve read enough comments on this board to know it probably isn’t worth it. At the end of the day, cook your food, but don’t bitch because a random stranger picked up your order and everything wasn’t 100% when it got to your doorstep.

I would eat Chick-Fil-A 10/10 over Chili’s. Chili’s just isn’t good at all.

I remember when Chili's first opened in Lafayette. It was a treat for my parents to take me and my sister there.
I loved their baby back ribs, though that was long before I discovered how ribs really should taste.

I’m not sure if it was because I was poor growing up, but I loved Chili’s, Applebees, TGIF’s, etc.

That place was PACKED. Seemed like every damn day almost.
