Growing up, my family ate
Strictly on rice. Probably bc Fritos were
Too expensive….
I know people who have never heard of they before and think I’m foreign or something …
What about you?

I like cheddar goldfish crackers with my chili. A step up from saltines.

We ate rice as well. People up here in Dallas think I'm weird when I put rice in my chilli. I never have put fritos in there, might try it, but do crumble up saltines in the chilli.

We added saltines growing up. Now I add Fritos.

Fritos, saltines, rice, oyster crackers, raw onion, cheese, sour cream, fresh jalapeños, whatever you add to chili it’s all good.

We had it over rice growing up, and I still like it that way sometimes, but Fritos are just awesome.

Fritos and cheese. Crackers are good as well.

Rice sometimes but it was mainly either frito-pie (obviously with fritos and cheap chili with beans) or just chili (no beans) typically venison

We were more likely to have Tostitos in the house than Fritos, so I'd put a layer of chili, crumble the chips up, then put some cheese and more chili on top of that. Sometimes top that with sour cream.

Rice growing up also. Now, I like it over penne pasta with Fritos on top.

I never heard of chili with rice until I got to LSU. The cafeteria ladies in the Union would ask you if you wanted rice with it. What?
I come from a rice-loving family (Mom from SW La), but it seemed weird until I tried it. Now I always eat rice with it if I have cooked rice on hand. But I don't think I ever made a fresh pot of rice specifically for chili.
Growing up, I loved saltines in my Hormel chili, so much so that someone once asked me if I liked my crackers with chili rather than the other way around.

I’m 43 years old and have never ate rice with chili. We might have been a bunch of weirdos, but we always just ate it with crackers.

A small bag of Fritos cost $7, I refuse to pay that. Rice it is

Rice is first choice. Then it's cornbread.
We were hunting in north LA years ago at a public WMA. We made friends with the red neck camp neighbors and they shared their moonshine while we shared our meals.
One night was deer chili, and we made a big pot of rice over the fire. We cooked everything over the fire. It was their first time ever hearing about rice with chili...they cleaned both pots out and we cleaned out the moonshine
