Good memories of the BR location. Went with my parents sometimes and then I became an annual tradition during my teen years to go for my birthday. I was always allowed to sip on my mom’s margaritas and beginning at 16 I would get my own.

What are some of your favorite memories?
When I turned 18 in 1985 (legal drinking age was 18 then) we would go to Chi-Chi's near the old Fun Fair Park on Florida @ Airline and get the frozen margaritas by the pitcher. I think it was $8 a pitcher then if I remember right. The chips and salsa were complimentary. Good times. Wish I could go back in time to the mid 80's.

The deal grants Michael McDermott, son of CHI-CHI'S™ founder, use of the CHI-CHI'S™ name on physical restaurant locations which are expected to open in 2025.

I’m looking for any update about this. I wonder when in 2025 are they planning on reopening.

Looks like the first location of their reopening is planned for Monday in Minnesota.

Was this the Mexican place by Cortana that had the huge fountain inside ?

I visited their first new location on October 22. Really enjoyed the memories.
A lot of your favorite dishes are not on the new menu. Chips and salsa were just like old times. The entrees were not the same. The food was good, but not what you remember.

I remember those in Atlanta, along with El Chico. Mall Mexican, we called it. There was in the late 70s, one Tex-Mex place, Pepe's on Ponce. I loved it, but not long afterwards, some Mexican restaurants owned and run by Mexicans started appearing and now they are everywhere. Some of the best Mexican food in Atlanta is found in the back of a tienda where little ol' abuelas are making tamales and gorditas and birria and tortas, and tlayudas and whatnot.

Is this what dementia looks like? I can’t tell.

liked their chimichanga but it's been 30 years since I had it so I don't know if I still would like it

I seem to recall a big fountain in El Chico, which was on the same side of Airline as Cortana, near Bennigans, while Chi-Chis was by Fun Fair Park.
My husband and I went there way too often as teenagers. We could both eat for $18 with tip.
