I am looking to get a large cast iron pot for outdoor Jambalya cooking. Does anyone have any recommendations.

My 7qt lodge does the trick for just about everything, and I make a lot of jambalayas.

Depends on how many people you plan to cook for. Unless you are having huge parties, I don't think anything bigger than 5 gallons is necessary. I have a 10 gallon and it is extremely heavy and difficult to store, move, or clean. It does great, and I use it for large groups once or twice a year, but in all honesty, I probably could downgrade in size if I really wanted to.
I bought it on Amazon. The free shipping was totally worth it, plus I got a burner designed for it that can support its full weight.
This is the one I have. LINK I recommend it, but with the above reservations.
Edit: my 7 quart Lodge Dutch Oven gets much more use, but indoors. Look at the jambalaya calculator and see what size would be best for the anticipated number of guests and serving size.

I think I may just need a 7 quart. I appreciate the link.

"Large" is a relative term. How many people you want to be able to feed? Or in the alternative, how much jambalaya you wanna make?
Just saying "outdoor jambalaya cooking" doesn't give everyone enough information to make solid recommendations.

I just bought a 9 qt. Lodge with the wire handle on top for under $60. That size will serve 15-20 people.

Rather than one large pot, have you considered two smaller pots? You can turn the cooking into a group activity in which you supervise. Can add fun to parties.

I second. But order a year ahead from when you actually need it
Also this is only if you need a burner too. If you just need a pot there are other better options.

I've got a 2.75 gal Bayou Classic. Works pretty well.

I have the 5 gallon Cajun. I love it. I like the rounded bottom better than the dutch oven flat bottom style. And the Cast Lid makes it very nice and not too heavy for this size pot
I bought it used (already perfectly seasoned) the guy I bought it from used to do alot of cracklins...
It actually fit perfectly on my fish fryer burner stand (with some small modifications to accomodate the rounded bottom)
Definitely use the Calculator! I've cooked for many birthday parties and tailgates, up to 25-30 people easily.
Would recommend.
