Carrollton Market - You Don't Like My Politics? I Don't Need Your BusinessPosted by t00f
on 1/5/21 at 7:26 am

well there ya have it. All white people are bad.
"Got privilege? It's way past time to use it for good."
"We will never eat at your restaurant again, and we will tell all our friends and neighbors that you support a Marxist organization,” read the email. My head almost exploded. Kenneth S—an unfamiliar customer of my small New Orleans neighborhood bistro—was following up on the “delicious” meal he had just picked up. He was so offended by two small Black Lives Matter prints in my front windows that while the New Orleans restaurant economy was in apocalyptic free fall, he felt he felt empowered to destroy my business, taking my struggling staff down with it. He concluded that he “wants to help local businesses during these tough times.”

That guy is in for a big surprise when he realized he just annexed most of the people who are keeping him in business to begin with.
Oh well, play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

Did you not read the part where the guy said his dad was a Wall Street executive? He's probably a trust fund baby living the dream in New orleans, masquerading as an entrepreneur who built something himself

Yeah the Michael Brown and Alton Sterling signs are stupid

Decisions have consequences, small business owner. Hope your virtue signaling is worth it.

Ole boy better watch his step, he didn’t even make the top 20 of where black Nola eats. If he doesn’t have the support of his brethren, best not to piss off the remaining customers (regardless of race)
I'm so sick of Chef's/cooks pretending they are more important than they are. Ever since Bourdain, every piece of shite chef with a tattoo thinks he's "edgy" and "dangerous". You fricking cook food. You aren't riding with the Hell's Angels. Get over yourselves.
And as for the BLM shit, well, go woke, go broke. This moron believes he was born into white privelege. Sorry "goodenough", but you were born into simply privilege. Your father's race had nothing to do with it. His wealth, however, did. And the fact that you, being the white "edgy" chef whose father is a multi-millionaire wall street exec, therefore, he has no fear of failing. He has a safety net that others do not. Now i have to listen to this asshat preach about white privilege as if every white person shares the same background as him, simply based on skin color?
TLDR; edgy chef makes socially acceptable "edgy" social media post to mostly liberal friends and pretends he's being "dangerous".

Business owner decides to broadcast specific (divisive) political points (that have nothing whatsoever to do with his particular business) to any customer that happens to pass through his establishment, and gets upset when people react to his specific political points?

Pretty funny some clowns are quickly downvoting posts that point out what should be common sense.

It's rather peculiar, isn't it?
What's the point of being "edgy" if you don't expect to get a rise out of some folks?

Politics aside, Is the place good? I have never been. Is that the one that's similar to the St. Roch Market?
It's pretty good. Nothing loke St Roch. It is a straight forward restaurant.
The chef has acted like a child a couple times that I have been in there. Doesn't surprise me that he is just a rich kid.

There’s more black people than that killed by other black people like every 8 minutes. It’s a shame they don’t get a mural.
Exactly - there’s more black people killed by blacks people in NEW ORLEANS. I’m not saying the stories in other places shouldn’t get attention - but why not address the problem in the first place. Why are blacks killed by cops (obvi not the case for Arbery)??
