I love em. I eat them by themselves almost daily/nightly.

What are some quick and good things I can do with them? Not really looking for big recipes, just stuff that I can do with them basically raw to change it up a bit.

I cut it and sprinkle it with salt, pepper, some olive oil and a little lemon juice.

I usually cut mine and do salt, pepper, and honey mustard.

Honey mustard sound good. I have read a few articles that talk about grilling them and I always wanted to try it. They cut the avacado in half and grill just long enough to get grill marks and then serve them however you like.

We had three trees in our back yard where I grew up in FL. Ate them all the time. I add salt/pepper/lime juice. Also cut up and toss in a salad.

I, too, never get tired of them.

In the summer I do a quickie salad with sweet onions, tomato and avocado with s&p and lemon juice. Amazing.

My favorite sandwich is turkey, bacon and avocado on toast.

Honey mustard is good. I have a thing for Green Goddess salad dressing, so I dip them in that a lot.

Red wine vinegar with salt and pepper.

Grilled Avocado and Crab Meat Salad

This is awesome as a side with grilled fish in the summer.

3 avocados halved, skin removed
1 lb crab meat either jumbo lump or lump
1 can black beans rinsed
2 jalapeno peppers de-veined and seeded minced
2 limes zested and juiced
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 TBS kosher or sea salt
1/2 TBS fresh ground black pepper

Grill avocados on a medium flame, cut side down for about five minutes. Dice them up add to a bowl. Add remaining indredients and stir. The only pain in the butt with this recipe is cleaning the crab meat. The rest is very easy.

Damn that sounds killer. The skinned avocados stay together alright on the grill?

As long as they aren't over ripe they hold their shape perfectly.

I tried this one time. Didn't like them too much. They were mushy and warm. I guess I've just gotten used to eating them at room temperature. Maybe I had them on too long.

You need to let them cool off and don't use avocados that are too ripe.

Avacado
Shrimp
Tomato
Jalapeño
Red onion
Lime juice
Salt
Pepper
Garlic/garlic powder
Cheese (didn't change the flavor too much- I will probably leave it out next time)

Roughly chop all ingredients
Combine in a bowl
Stir so that the avacados get a little mushy, but not like guac.
Serve on a bed of lettuce, in a tomato or any other way you desire. It ends up being a very chunky guacamole-like salad. So delicious and it's really pretty easy.

Avocado sandwich

Toasted "good"(think 12 grain or similar) bread with light mayo, sliced red onion and tomato and avocado(lightly salted) and alfalfa sprouts.

ETA a bit of lettuce think romaine or red leaf.

Sounds like a taco salad.

Anyone know where I can get those big tortilla bowls from?

Was looking for the drool emoticon, but I see you even put that in there for me.

Favorite simple quick avocado snack (usually a nice quick lunch for me.) is cutting an avocado in two, take some fresh shrimp that i mix in a light mayo, tabasco and lemon mix (or use cocktail sauce, whatever your preference is.) and fill the middle. then just scoop and eat.

Avocado is great on a BLT.

That's not news, just a reminder.

I eat this just about every night:

Diced avocado
Kosher Salt
Ground Black Pepper
dried basil
White Balsamic Vinegar
Olive oil

Toss the above together for the best simple avocado salad.
