I’ve been craving Indian but none of the places are serving their buffet due to COVID.

Maybe I’m trashy but I love a good buffet.

What places in Baton Rouge are serving a buffet?

I know El Magey and Oriental Pearl are. Any others besides casino buffets?

What about Thai Pepper?

Thai Kitchen is definitely not, I go just about every week. The lunch combos are very good through, would recommend the Garlic Dish with the peanut sauce salad

Dude, don't be ratting out El Magey and Oriental Pearl on here or someone's gonna tell JBE and he's gonna send the COVID police to shut them down.

Swaggat doesn't have buffet, but they have a nice lunch box that might satisfy your craving until the buffet reopens.

I don't care if it makes me trashy but I do enjoy Indian buffets as well.

I know you asked about BR but Indigo restaurant in Shreveport is bringing out several different entrees to the table in a smaller "family style" serving while they aren't able to do buffet. I actually really enjoyed it that way and wouldn't mind seeing other Indian restaurants do that as well.

El Magey gives each person gloves and that’s their only requirement. They still let you go down the line and serve yourself. You just get a new pair of gloves each time.

I mainly miss the Indian buffets. I like to eat so many different things that it’s always hard to choose one off of a menu and pay the same price as I would for the buffet with all the options. Swaggat’s lunchbox sounds like a good compromise, I assume it’s a few things instead of just one? Like a little tikka masala, naan, rice and maybe a side that you wouldn’t normally get?

Self-serve? I'm not putting on gloves each time i want to get some food.
