I dont r think it will matter. They will just come up with more releases like Weller Single Barrel and opening up EH Taylor and Stagg Jr to the barrel pick program. Before you know it OWA will be MSRP of $79. I hope all the Millenial/ Hipsters are happy now.

It'll never be ready in time.
ETA: Regular old Buffalo Trace is 4-6 years of aging. Weller SR and 107 are around 7 years. Eagle Rare is 10 years minimum.
So best case 5 years away from even a small market impact.

When did Buffalo trace become such a highly sought out bottle? Years ago it was just a standard whisky you could find just about anywhere

I haven’t sought it out in a while, but I think it’s still relatively easy to get around here.
ETA: but to answer your question, the taters first came for Blanton’s, then EH Taylor, then Eagle Rare, and have now seemed to move onto Buffalo Trace.

BT is hard to get in Texas. Most places that have it limit you to one bottle.

My cousin was telling me that he couldn’t find Buffalo Trace or Sazerac Rye in northern Virginia. He’s coming down at the end of March, so I’ll probably send him home with a bottle of each
