I have successfully avoided that site and paper for a a while now (year or so), but fell off the wagon with the click on that article.

Yeah couple quibbles here and there, but directing to that link could save a lot of needless "Best places to eat in NOLA" threads.
Interestingly enough, Pete Wells of NYT listed his best restaurants in New York today. While reading it, I saw link to article about Bentony closing. Bentony was up for best new restaurant at the Beard awards the year Peche one, IIRC.
ETA: If I had to wager on Brett's restaurant of the year, Id put money on Compere Lapin. Seems to be oddly missing from the list above.

I've never eaten at Revolution, but it gets mentioned a lot. That was one I thought might have made the list, but it's a damn fine list no doubt.

I would not put Clancy's on there. I get its a "staple" but its no longer one of the 10 best.
I would have Comperé Lapin on there for sure
Eta I'd also probably put Sylvain in over Brennans or Clancys

I seriously doubt anyone here has eaten at Brennan's as much as Brett Anderson does throughout the year.
I put more faith in his review after numerous visits than I do anyone here who went once in the past 5 years.
