Driving New Orleans to Oakdale this Saturday and wanted to stop somewhere to get some boudin, boudin balls and other tasty items.

Where is a good place to stop and what should I try? Will drive through Lafayette.

I like Billy's but Don's and The Best Stop are all good and all right by each other at the Scott exit which is the 1st exit out of Lafayette

Is regular or smoked Boudin better or just a personal preference?

Ronnie’s in Hammond. Great taste and chunks of pork in their boudin.

Dont think his N.O. to Oakdale route via Lafayette will take him to Hammond, but I've been wrong many, many times before.

Its personal. I like regular better. Anywhere in Scott will have best boudin you can find.

If you're going through Eunice, Lejeune's Sausage Kitchen for sausage and ponce, 104 Tasso Circle, Eunice.

T-Boy's has a satellite location in Eunice at 1500 W Laurel Avenue in Eunice. Stop and get boudin.

When driving through Scott, stop by Billy's for Pepper Jack boudin wraps and balls. They also have an excellent crawfish wraps and crawfish balls.

Poche's in Breaux Bridge

I tried that for the first time the other day. I was not impressed.

Best Stop and Billy’s are your 2 best options.

I've been on the boudin tour for a few months now, and I think T-Boy's in Eunice is close to the top so far. They have a little too much pepper for me personally, but it's fantastic.

I tried the PJ boudin balls for the first time not too long ago and didn't care for it at all. It completely takes away from the boudin.

I don't know if you are driving I-10 or Hwy 90. If Hwy 90 then:

My favorites are regular boudin from G and M in Jeanerette, smoked boudin from the best stop in Scott, boudin balls from Billys in Scott and crawfish boudin from Bourgeois in Thibodeaux.

My favorites are Kartchner's in Krotz Springs, Janise's in Sunset, and Bourque's in Port Barre... in no particular order.

Billy's is my favorite but all those places listed in the Lafayette area are very good. Pouches and Russells have decent boudin but I wouldn't call it close to as good as Billy's. Get some gratons too.
