Regardless of how you choose to rate bbq the New Orleans BBQ offerings have come leaps and bounds in the last 10 years. It used to be The Joint and that was pretty much it.

no one is saying we are getting Truth, Pinkerton, Blood Brothers level bbq in Nola but it's decent. If I want texas BBQ I'll head to Gonzo

I think the public is more upset with BO than Parkview. Parkview was open to still leasing the building under BO ownership. Tho it does sound like BO is strong arming them to phase them out

Ok? They could have not wanted to sell if for 20 years and changed their mind at year 30. And if its as Parkview said, no right of first refusal was included in the lease agreement, then there are no issues here.
If anything Parkview can maybe be upset with landlord but not Blue Oak. Were they expected to ask Parkviews permission to bid?

I would argue both right now are kicking well beyond their coverage in terms of how they've been historically and culturally seen as a part of the local dining scene.
Neither strike me as a poster child for foods that are severely lacking for decent representation in New Orleans at the moment.
