I saw the before edit. I have too. I still have a cousin that's an award winning chef over there.

I think it's just the way to be. Hate the popular choice. Blue Bell is third biggest ice cream maker b/c of taste. It wasnt' always available outside of SE Texas but the demand grew so strong for it that it expanded. It isnt' marketed across the US like the others. Funny thing is it's still family owned unlike the Ben & Jerry sellouts too. It's funny to read comments like, all the artificial crap in Blue Bell. when they've probably never looked at a Ben & Jerry's label. But as long as the milk and cream come from organic cows, it's ok. Not hating on Ben & Jerry's though b/c like I mentioned, Phish Food is my favorite. Haagen Daazs may have the highest butterfat and be the most dense but to me, it just doesnt' taste good. And that's all that matters.

Well that and I'm white trash.

John Folse was making some killer gelato but I can't find it anymore. It was high dollar. Brocato's spumoni is pretty rockin.

My wife has a White Mountain electric ice cream churn and makes is starting shortly about every week or two until it gets cool again.

I miss the old K & B ice cream. It was the cheapest and the best.

You put a bowl in front of me and I don't care if it is Booger McFarland's ice cream. I'm hitting it like I'm going to the lectric chair.

My opinion is there is no bad ice cream.

Blue Bell Mardi Gras ice cream has got to be the least 'natural' food in the history of mankind. It's friggin' purple, for crying out loud. But it is so damn tasty.

Well, hell! I must be white trash. I love Blue Bell.

I must be super white trash, I might be getting married in Brenham.

We'll be putting scoops of Blue Bell Vanilla next to the wedding twinkies and cupcakes, much like a 5 year olds birthday cake.

Do you prefer guar gum or xanthan gum for that homemade old-fashioned taste and texture? My grandma swore by xanthan gum!

Glass, I'm eating lunch at Cochon next week. Any recommendations on what to order? To avoid a complete thread hijack: how is their ice cream?
