Bland diet questions

I need to be on a bland diet for three days. Sounds like I need to eat foods I've been avoiding, like a baked potato or other white carbs.
How do you make food taste good if it's going to be bland? I know this sounds stupid.

I don't even know what a bland diet is. I'd start with salt/pepper though

I should have asked more questions! I think I can't have fatty dairy. So no butter or cheese. :(

Get good products instead of cheap stuff. Fresh stuff, even if its not explosive flavors will have good taste.

Hmmm, my first thought is toasted bread with a drizzle of olive oil.

Rice with soy
Bakes potato with salsa
Toast or rolls with a cinnamon and honey mix....this has been my goto for a month now for breakfast. I don't miss butter at all.

Help me with this one, why would you need to eat potatoes and white carbs if you are on a bland diet?

Darla, I had to eat sort of a bland softer diet due to a tooth ailment last month. I ate a lot of eggs until I was pretty sick of them. Lasted over a week, but they served their purpose. I ate egg drop soup quite a few times. A good wonton soup was good if the meat isn't too spiced up. You could skip the veggies and remove the pasta from the wontons and stick with the broth and meat.
I also ate a lot of low fat yogurt during the day to fend off antibiotic side effects. I found some for diabetics I think that were not high in sugar or carbs like the others. I can't remember what brand it was, but one of them makes it. I'd never seen it before. I drank diet 7 Up and a lot of water.
Hope whatever it is you have going on, goes on it's merry way quickly.
Back to baseball for me. I've had out of town guests here on and off for over a week. Between that, work and baseball, it's been chaotic here. I've been eating well, though.

Because potatoes, rice, pasta and bread are usually part of a bland diet?
Thanks for the suggestions, y'all. I just need to do this for a few days to start, then we'll see.

Why the need for the Bland Diet? If I can ask... I've just never heard of it. And I would imagine it's not something someone would want to be on
Can you have herbs? Add rosemary or thyme to potato when cooking. Or garlic.
Can you sub the white potato for a sweet potato? I would go for foods that are naturally flavorful, but I'm sensing that's what you're trying to avoid?

Trying to see if some pain will go away.
The list is pretty much what you see posted above by VeniVidiVici. Every link I've followed has that same list. Not sure about herbs. Don't want to upset the colon.
Or the semi-colon. ;-)

I can do without the alcohol, but I need warning to go without caffeine.
A few other sites say that I can have SOME butter and some soft, mild cheeses.
I'm getting dizzy watching that gif!!!

Rice is both bland and low residue (easy on the digestion). If your blood sugar can't take white rice, then try brown. Teriyaki sauce spooned over poached boneless skinless chicken, served w rice.....or tofu.
Pho, hold the hot peppers and bean sprouts, is relatively non spicy and easily digested (rice noodles).
