Due to a worker shortage.

Big Mike's always had great service. Hopefully they get back into a position to reopen soon.

Good Morning Everyone,

On behalf of myself, Mike, and my wife, Judy Lewis, we know there may be questions about why we decided to temporarily close the Houma location. The restaurant industry, along with many other industries have been negatively impacted by the recent drop in applicants looking for work. Although many businesses are booming, the ability to properly service customers is tough right now. This is due to lack of manpower. As you all know, we pride ourselves with putting customer service first, as it is the utmost important aspect of a successful business. For us, we feel the need to rethink our business in Houma because we want to ensure that we are as efficient as possible and our employees work schedules allow them to have quality time outside of work. As many of you know, we plan to relocate the current Houma location within 2 years. This was a decision that was made prior to Covid that was put on pause after Covid . This decision was made because we knew our business had outgrown our current location, and we have our awesome customers to thank for that. With this new location, our goal is to provide proper service in a more efficient building with better parking, etc. Our locations are busier now than they have ever been, and the need for more manpower and efficient space to provide customers with the absolute best service is needed more than ever. We do plan to reopen the current Houma location as soon as it is possible with a few adjustments to our menu for better efficiency. For now, manpower continues to be our greatest challenge and we believe our staff will benefit from combining our two locations for now. This is the most immediate resolution. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to THANK YOU, our employees, who have worked hard for us even when asked to take on more hours with little time off, as well as our customers for your continued support for 13 years.

Stay tuned as we will keep you informed along the way!

Everyone is. I'm probably better of than most. I've got a few work release guys but they are tapped out.

Sad to see them shut this location down especially with plans to move to a new location in Houma. I'm sure this will slow those plans. Big Mikes always seemed to have a good amount of business is Houma, so I'm sure they will bounce back.

I say this with no offense to Mike, he's a great guy who does a lot of amazing things for our community, but your taste buds are shite. His smoked turkey is A++, but the rest is terrible, dry, bitter smoke. Just no.

Please eat real BBQ.

Add Griffins in Raceland to the list. No workers, temporarily closed.

Surprise surprise.
People would rather get free cash from the government than work.
Who could have predicted this??
