Haven't had French Press burger, heard good things but I'll throw Brick & Spoon in there. La Morenita is legit

Had the wings at hooked up last night.

They were cooked magnificently. When I complimented the bartender, she said they broiled them before frying. They were close to pluckers quality.

Unfortunately, they only had buffalo, Thai, and BBQ for flavor selections. I got the buffalo and they were mild. I kicked it up with some Krystal hot sauce, but they really need to work on their buffalo sauce selection.

The worst part was the ranch. It just sucked. I might bring my own blue cheese next time.

The atmosphere was awful. Screaming kids everywhere and a really cheesy nautical theme.

If anyone wants to open a wing place in Lafayette, I am willing to finance it. I'm 100% serious.

I went to Smitty's wings yesterday and was very impressed with the wings. I have to go back because they come breaded unless you ask for them naked, but the were cooked well and the sauces were on point.

The best Mexican in Lafayette is Maya's on the thruway. Big yellow building across from Franks. Lafayette will be getting a Chuy's and that will be my new favorite Mexican restaurant.

Wings I'll go with Fat Pat's or Hook'd Up but like another poster said Hook'd Up's sauces are weak. I'm curious to see how Hurricane's wings will be, shouldn't be much longer until they open.

It's on ambassador by the capital one. It is in a red building that used to be a bar.

Pilot's pub, maybe?

West Congress, and yes that's the old Pilots Pub location. I haven't been there to try it yet.

Coyote blues has gone to the birds. They still have the best fajita meat in town. Their tortillas are a joke - store bought would be better. Also their chips and salsa suck. Worst app chips ever. Fantastic margaritas though.

Mayas on the thruway - they've cut costs and food quality has gone down a lot over the past few years.

Neither of those places would make it a week in Houston.

Fat Pats - quit eating there 5 years ago. Bun and dressings for their burgers are the best, the meat is a over done hocky puck that's inedible. Fries suck.

Pass in front of Smitty's wings almost daily. Never have the urge to stop in. Horrible name, even worse location. Looks like they're at least trying, and they seem to have cleaned up the property a ton.

Best burger/fries in town is 5 guys, I'm real sorry to say that. It's a chain I know... Southside/Twins's patty sucks but has great bun. Judice Inn is just a grease ball and has no sides. If I'm at a restaurant, I'm not ordering a burger, so I really can't rate other places.

You mean the dried out, overcooked, meatloaf patty? I tried it once and they lost my business when they told me they had to cook it well done.

I give my nod to the Thursday special at Bread and Circus, the Juicy Lucy.

Eta: quick lunch burger winner goes to the fully loaded Big G from Gary's at Lamar and Garfield. Damn good burger in the middle of nowhere.

Do they still allow smoking in Max's? I haven't been in years but that's kind of what keeps it off my list.

The rest of them aren't in my "lunch" range, but I'm gonna have to give them a shot.

Second Deano's wings. A close second for me is Pizza Village.

I like Deano's for wings, Dix for burgers, & La Hacienda for Mexican.
