And the only "wings" they have is when you order the fried chicken dinner - you get 4 pieces, only one wing. Shows you they don't know shite.

Nah, you can ask for 6 or 12 wings (drums/flappers)...only way to go, don't get half a fried chicken...

Also, I'll admit I think overall the mexican food quality has gone down at La Fonda...only thing I ever order is rabbit, beef nachos or wings

There are no good wings in Laffy. You can settle for edible, but don't expect "good". Hell, I would be happy with "decent".

The best Mexican is La Pagua.

The best burger is from Burgersmith in RR.

What burger did you have from there? I'll guess organic or filet.

Say what? It's bad when your best burger is a turkey burger.

Wing Stop is what you're looking for. Order the mango-habanero wings and a large order of fries w/ cheese sauce !

I wouldn't rank Lafonda in the top 10 restaurants in lafayette. Hell maybe not even top 20.

I hate on it because of how some people praise it. What the frick is there to praise? Yea, margarita is nice a strong, but I've had a better margarita at Coyote Blues, which is the best Mexican in the city.

The food is nothing to brag about, by any means, which is that #1 reason I go to restaurants.

Lafonda is a fun restaurant, I'll give it that, but it is not a good restaurant.

Let me wade in here with a few bullet points:
1 La Fonda's does not serve margaritas. There's nothing margarita about it. It's a frozen cocktail
2 La Fonda's attempt at Mexican food is a joke. Eat rabbit chicken or quesadillas
3 best wing restaurant is wing stop if your're too lazy to cook
4 go to Joey's buy the wings and get the Diablo Hot sauce from Albertsons dollar aisle
5 None of the burgers discussed in this thread are worth mentioning again.
6 Lafayette Mexican is like saying Lafayette BBQ
Just my 2 cents

I went there for lunch today. It was meh at best. I got a fajita beef taco salad and I am pretty sure they used pot roast for the meat. I was expecting sliced skirt steak.

The best burger in the city is definitely at French Press.

Dix burgers are not awesome, but way better than burger smith.

Coyote Blue is a better restaurant than La Fonda, but they are not comparable. CB isn't tex mex.

I will give la pagua a shot. I hope it's good.

La pagua is the best for a traditional place, although I also enjoy blue agave. La morenita is the most authentic. BTW, I buy my taco meat from there and serve it authentic. None of the cheese, sour cream and salsa crap.

ETA: I will prolly get grilled for this but I like a cheeseburger from ground pati. I don't like seasoned burgers.

Absolutely. When I'm having Mexican night at home this is the only place I need to shop at. A quick lunch there isn't bad either.
