she learned that from her grandma?
We always keep the bacon grease too. My mom just gave me a couple Mason jars of it. It's great to cook veggies in, fry your eggs in, etc. Since I have so much I made some hamburger steaks and gravy the other night and used the bacon grease for my roux. Hubby said it was the best I ever made and wanted to know what was different. Bacon grease is your friend!!

Place on baking pan, toss in 350 oven, flip once, pour grease into lard bucket for later use.

cast iron skillet, just cooked up a whole pound. I save some of the grease for cooking other things and just wipe out the pan. Pretty clean.

I have one of those little racks that go in the microwave. You can get a pound of bacon on it and about 8-10 minutes later it's cooked. It's easy to pour off the grease to save for another use.
Cleanup's not too bad, you can wipe it, rinse it and pop in the dishwasher.

I've always just used a non-stick skillet, and cooked on the burner until done. Super easy to clean, takes no more than 30 seconds to scrub and dry the non-stick

OK, time for a story about the wife. Think Lucille Ball here.
She was about 30 and still had never learned to cook but decided she wanted some bacon.
She thought "Bacon is fried... fried means cooked in hot oil."
So, she put a pot on the stove top; added 2 cups of oil and turned that sucker up to smoking level. Then unwrapped a 12 oz package of raw bacon and threw it in.
There was an explosion.

Large George Forman style grill. We have been doing it this way for years. My wife say this is the best and easist way to cook bacon.

I just ordered my brother-in-law a bacon press after hearing a few of you rave about them. He's been wanting one for years. (Hopefully he'll let me borrow it.)

Agree with oven method. I put it on racks over a foil lined cookie sheet.
Unfortunately I can't eat it anymore.

In oven, lay out the pieces on a cookie sheet lines with foil, put in oven at 350, about 10 min flip the bacon and cook till done, throw away foil and clean up is done
This is the way I cook my bacon. The strips come out evenly cooked, perfectly straight, and there is NO cleanup (except to throw away the foil).
After the bacon is cooked, I pour some of the bacon grease into my pan to do the eggs. Perfect.

Been using the cookie sheet in oven, but cleanup is a beeeoch. I'll have to try the foil on top.
My only problem is, the wife wants me to collect the bacon grease for future use.
Don't put tin foil on top. Just line the pan with tin foil. Then pour off the bacon grease when you're done.

Bacon press is first way to go
Second get a jelly roll pan and place a rack in it such as one for cooking baked goods you wont have to turn the bacon and its easy to pour off the grease
