I've had some pretty good falafel and taboulleh.

I'm ok with vegan. Fake meat is ridiculous, though. Give me veggies, but don't try to use veggies to simulate meat.

“Best Vegan” is an oxymoron.

Unless you have tried Beyond Meat burgers, cooked on a grill, you really can't make that statement. The texture, taste, look is all very, very close to a beef burger. My Vegan lifestyle isn't by choice, really, but by necessity....

Not sure if it's the best, but we make this one regularly, probably 2-3 times a month. It's very good. But you gotta sub regular rice for brown rice. I hate brown rice.

I had a vegan banh mi at MJ’s Cafe that was awesome. They used marinated then grilled tofu for the ‘meat’.

Sweet and sour chick peas are pretty good and easy to make.
I make vegan crunch wraps at home that are amazing

Probably a vegetable biryani dish at an Indian restaurant.

We make a wild rice, sautéed mushroom and onion dish that is very good - Has no name. Sometimes add a few black beans and a little whole kernel corn also.
Whatever I might say, these are still my favorite vegetarian dishes.
However, we all need to understand (as my Grandson Patrick so elegantly puts it) eating vegetables is still murder.

Plenty of great vegetable dishes from Mediterranean and various Asian cuisines
I really like Moussaka or just about any Indian dish involving eggplant or cauliflower.
My favorite vegan food is chocolate covered almonds

There is almost nothing I can think of cooked that I would like vegan. Vegetarian dishes, sure. I like lots of Indian and Mediterranean dishes that are vegetarion. But vegan? Hell no. Even corn on the cob is crap without good butter.
That said, vine fresh sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper in the summer is hard to beat, but calling that a vegan dish would be like saying an apple is a vegan dish.

Hopdoddy has the Impossible vegan burger that is amazing......its full of processed crap though. Arlo's in Austin has an amazing vegan burger too. My brother takes friends there and they have no idea its vegan. They all think its a real burger.

no
Why would that be a requirement?
I assume you're talking about the milk or butter component. Vegan friendly ones use coconut oil from what I've seen.
