Thought there was a place in Central that had good steaks?

Probably thinking of the original Stabs

Good/Great Steaks in BR that are not necessarily steak houses:

Jubans
digiulio brothers
Mansurs
portobellos
Louisiana lagniappe
Robertos

Most of these are tournedos but if you can catch the right chef at digiulios its one the best steaks in br, I have also been where it was not just like their pizza

Prime 45 day dry aged ribeye at Ruffino's if they still have it. They often have a spinalis special there as well that's very good.

Really? They really baffle you? You must be such a tortured soul if that baffles you

Sounds like I struck a nerve

And yes, it baffles me. Experiencing the local food is one of my favorite parts of traveling, and I don’t understand why anyone would intentionally seek out one of the most homogenous dishes possible, unless they simply lack any measure of curiosity and creativity. It’s functionally the same as ordering a club sandwich: sure, some will be better than others, but none of them will have much to convey about the time and place in which you had it.

How about a meal at Ruffinos? Never had steak there but I’ve no reason to think it would be bad.

I got a Wagyu steak there a while back and it may have been the best I've ever eaten. A little pricey, but well worth it for a steak that well marbled, and you could cut it with a spoon.

I haven’t been to Stroube’s in a while, but that could be a good local steak option for the OP. I have had some great pork chops from there.

Of course they do, which is why I said it baffles me, not that they should all be rounded up and burned alive

I want to say that they quit dry aging beef sometime last year. Their website menu doesn't say anything about it anymore.
