I love Sal and Judy's. Just have no clue where Mosca's could be compared to Spahr's. The Mosca's have known my family for three generations. I can honestly say I have had some of the best/most fun meals of my life there.

Maybe it was an off night. Everyone told me the salad was enough for many people to share, but my wife and I had just enought for both of us. The shrimp were overcooked and hard to peel -- shells stuck to the meat. And the oysters in the breadcrumbs came in a metal pan, and when you scraped them out to put them on the plate, it was like nails going down a chalkboard. IDK, I just didn't get the hype.

Pat's is a good call... too bad it's a shell of what it once was.

DI's is in BFE. Great place. The first time I went I thought I was lost. We pulled over and called the place, the lady said "you haven't gone far enough yet"!

There was a Freys in Welsh that was good. Then they moved to Jennings to a big place. Now I heard they were back at the old place in welsh. And Pats of Henderson back in the day was pretty damn good. Camp style shrimp étouffée there was outstanding. I've been trying to recreate it in my kitchen for years

It makes me sad to hear it has gone downhill. I haven't eatten there in probably 10-15 years. I remember it used to be good.

I am not sure what is up with Frey's Crawfish House. Tried going this past weekend in Jennings and they were shut down. I hope they are back in Welsh b/c they had great food.

It's not what it used to be. Prices have gone up and servings have gone down. Still one of my favorite places to eat/get super drunk. The owner is a good friend of the family and I really enjoy going. My camp is very close to there.

Another one is Backroads in Clinton.

It's more the environment than the food. Get there a little early, have a few fish bowls, play a little video poker, etc
