La Michoacana is where it's at for real Mexican food.

Side note: What was that Shreveport/Bossier restaurant that got mentioned in a great thread a few years ago, where a poster hosted some type of family event and got ripped off by management? The guy had an anniversary dinner or a birthday for his parents and the restaurant charged him double for appetizers and added charges to the tab? Think the police almost got called in because of how bad things got.

I'm definitely not going to hate on it, but if I was giving a list of recommendations in S'port/Bossier, Deli Casino wouldn't be on my list. It's good, but in a convenient, I work across the street and don't want Sonic kind of way. I wouldn't got out of my way to pick it up. I do like it, though

Have you tried Taqueria Sin Fronteras on Hwy 80 in Haughton?

Looking forward to it. I always liked the location. Centralized in town, but kind of hidden. Was a great place to patio drink.

This

Not that it sucks or anything, but not a place I would recommend an out of towner to go unless I was reaching to make a list (you know who you are, mate).

I've never understood why people travel out of town and eat at familiar places. Try something unique to the city/town, branch out, taste something different.

The list here is extremely price variant. We've got stuff for people that can't afford more than 5 bucks for lunch and other recommendations that are closer to 100 dollars for dinner.

I recommend L'Italiano. I went to Taco Mania for lunch last week and it was awful service. Took an hour to get served and there was no crowd. I never go downtown Shreveport so can't critique.

Damn so Real Pickle is confirmed closed? It looks like they're doing renovations inside but the sign is still up on the building so I just assumed the new owners were doing the renovations.

I think I only went once after it was sold but noticed a decline in quality.

100% confirmed. It was definitely time for a change in there- I look forward to what they're going to put out.

Speaking of, you can get a hibachi lunch at Ichiban for like $7.00. You cannot beat that around here.
