Should at least suggest the chicken and watermelon place so we would have a review.

Looked at the menu and I don't even know what any of that shite is.

yea, you should go to commanders if you are new to new orleans cuisine. their brunch is the best. I wouldnt go there for dinner so much.

Check out Antoines or Arnuads for dinner. Expensive but worth it. Good food if you aren't into the experimental dishes at stella or august.

count me among those that thinks youll be outside of your depth at august (not meant as an insult) and that emerils would be a better choice potentially - its still fantastic but not a 14 course tasting menu. also has a great wine selection. Peche would also be a great option for you.

ill also echo herbsaint

I'm not a fan of Antoine's, its just WAY too old school for me. The Baked Alaska is absolutely worth getting there though (beware, it takes a very long time to prepare so order in advance...like an hour at least).

Luke is pretty average to me. Decent happy hour though.

just do August the service is top notch and the wait staff will be very accommodating. Tell them the occasion.and they will be more than happy to make it a special night.

I would say August is the best restaurant in the city, but Commander's is such a staple that it has to be recommended. Drago's char-broiled oysters are to die for, but the rest of the menu is kind of meh IMO.

Best Place In New Orleans To Eat??????
Ok Im getting married June 29th and coming down to New Orleans that night to stay and get up the next morning to get on our cruise. Anyway we are not having a reception so we want to eat some where nice that night. So where should we go?

Could we narrow that down just a bit so the list stays around 20 or so?

Just came back from the quarter and the Italian Barrel won't break the bank but great food and service.

Ate breakfast at Stanly's got a soft shell benedict that was to die for.
