The girlfriend and I are attempting a pescaetarian April. Where's everyone go to stores for buying seafood? Fresh. Frozen. Markets. All of them. In the Baton Rouge area, but travel to New Orleans often.
TIA
TIA

Tony’s has a lot of stuff and a good selection. But they aren’t the only place to get decent seafood in town. For the basic seafood such as shrimp, crawfish, or catfish I would check around at other local seafood markets as well as I find Tony’s prices are often well above many others.

In Nola, Westbank Seafood Market. Search for Sue's Seafood to get the address of the market

You going to clean fish? If so, best not to buy in bulk…just find a place with whole fish and buy a few times a week.

Could you name the other seafood shops you recommend?

Fresh Market and Whole Foods have a great variety.

On the Northshore you go to Pats Seafood or Lama’s in Mandeville. Great pre made food at Pats and good spicy seafood/crawfish at Lama’s. Love em both.

Having grown up in Louisiana and Florida, I had never purchased frozen fish in my life up until about two weeks ago. Fresh fish isn't easily available where I'm at right now, so I decided to try the frozen Kirkland brand Mahi Mahi and Halibut from Costco. I'm very happy with the quality of the Mahi Mahi (haven't tried the Halibut), and I love that each piece comes vacuum sealed from the store.
The pieces are small, and many of them come from the tail section of the fish, so keep that in mind... Perfect for fish tacos, but at about 4.5 ounces, they may be a little small for a fella with a decent appetite. I usually eat two. I've pan seared them with cilantro coconut rice and broccolini, and made a fish taco spread with slaw, mango salsa, avocado sauce, etc.
ETA- We always keep Kirkland brand boneless/skinless, wild-caught canned salmon in the house, and recently started purchasing Season brand sardines. I try to eat a can 4 times a week as snack, but you could make salmon cakes, pasta dishes, or any number of meals with these as well.

In Baton Rouge, Tony's is your best bet, although the prices aren't great.
The Westbank Seafood Market is a great place to shop around. Sue's, Jerri's, Amy's, April's -- they're all solid.

Don’t sleep on Alexander’s. Their fish monger grew up in the business and has good connections. Very nice selection daily of fresh fish, with a wider variety than Whole Paycheck or Fresh Market.

I'll add Seafood Source. Restaurant supplier but I'm pretty sure they'll sell a box of fish or shrimp to anyone if you give them a call and ask. The warehouse is impressive.
