Best of the Lockhart BBQ places

Lockhart is known for BBQ with the three heavy hitters of Kreuz Market, Smitty's, and Black's.
I know there is other places, but historically those are the big ones.
I've only had two, Black's and Kreuz. First time I went to Black's and thought it was okay, but every time since then I've been to Kreuz and I think it's the best BBQ (mainly Brisket) I've ever had. I want to try Smitty's just to say I've been to all three, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as Kreuz.
What's the food board's opinion?

I only got a chance to try Smitty’s. Food was great and I liked the atmosphere.

Blacks and Smittys flop back and forth for me. It just depends on the cut of the cow / hog on that day.
Smitty's has always been in the 3rd place for me and a reason I don't even bother with stopping there when the other 2 places are better.

i went to smittys based upon what some people have posted in here before. their brisket lived up to the hype. it was the best i have ever eaten and i would love to go back.

I've been to Blacks and found it to be excellent. The brisket was moist and picture perfect that day.

Obviously all 3 are great, but I really enjoy the sausage and smoked pork chops at Smitty’s.

went to Black's and Kreuz on the same day Friday before the 2019 LSU / Texas game. we got the beef rib at blacks and the brisket at Kreuz. Black's was great. was disappointed with Kreuz.
Went back to Black's last summer and ate the brisket. Blacks is soo much better

Have been to all three. IMO, Blacks was slightly better than Kreuz which was slightly better than Smitty's.
Need to revisit them.

been to blacks and kruez, kruez was hands down the better of the two for me and my wife. city market in Luling is good also, but we thought kruez was the best.

I really liked the food at Kreuz. I thought their sauerkraut was fabulous.

my take is that kreuz has the best sausage.
