I need a list (hate going to New Orleans).

I’ll start one, but would like other suggestions:

Oak Oven in harahan was very good when we went. Make sure to have reservations though.

Desi Vega’s is not Vega’s Tapas. Desi Vega’s is a steakhouse owned by the same ppl who own Mr John’s steakhouse. They have two locations. One in NOLA and another in Heritage plaza in Metairie. They also own a burger joint in harahan. Now Vega’s tapas is closed and now the chef who had left there long before it closed, now owns Station 6

There is some truth to what Lester posted. I would add Hispanic cuisine to his list. Plenty of those, especially in West Metairie.
I have heard great things about Gendusa's (Italian, Kenner) but have yet to try.

I've never had a bad meal at Austins's. Some have been fabulous, others decent.

Cafe Giovanni was excellent…mentally tasting that stained glass oyster dish right now.
