Not a city, but the Delta has some Excellent restaurants considering its small "working" population.

Not a "good" food city, but Jackson, MS is underrated, while Mobile and Birmingham suck balls.

Basically,
MS>>>>AL for food

I hear St. Louis has a very good food scene.

The amount of quality places I have eaten in the Delta astounds me...and I have yet to hit Lusco's and Rust.

Before I made I few trips up there, I would have doubted that statement. We are making another food/blues trip up there soon...then again in June for BB King at Club Ebony...that would make 6 times in a year.

You probably wouldn't recognize it or know what to do with it anyway

You seem like more of a dining out type of guy. Nothing wrong with that though. I enjoy it myself.

I cook quite often...just don't enjoy posting about it as much (online at least).

Earlier this week a made some speckled trout with an appetizer of crawfish and artichokes cakes and a blue cheese grilled portabella mushroom and....see, I am already bored just typing that.

It would be much more interesting to compare restaurants or food cities/regions.

I never even go to go.

Have you been to Rust yet?

There is a place in Rosedale...Blue Levee. I want to hit up there.

I got Rust and Lusco's as musts for the next trip...

We spend one night in Jackson on the way up to see my gf's parents and drop off the dog...I have been wanting to try Ro Chez or Nick's...or Creshale's.

I am going there in May 2011.

I have Chicago in September, Bangkok in October and Montreal in 2011...

I am trying to convince the gf that Mexico City would be safe.

Speaking of great food cities no one talks about...Mexico City.

That's because if you have a white face, you're probably going to get kidnapped.

The element of kidnapping/shooting/etc shouldn't stop one from getting good food.

Is there a food city/region in mexico that would be safe for an eating excursion...I don't want this all inclusive cancun shite.

One of the coasts maybe, certainly not Northern Mexico. The DF is a giant cluster frick and there are safe areas, but I wouldn't go to Mexico City if I didn't speak the language well, knew the neighborhoods or knew someone there to show me around.

I've been wanting to try Crechale's, as well. Also want to try Cool Al's.

I also recommend Hamil's (right outside Jackson)...
