I searched and only found a date night thread. Big foodie here, and just looking for best meals while here. I’m defenitly going to go to George’s. I’m close to Rosemary.

no offense to this guy, but these are terrible places. We've been going to 30A for about 14 years now. It has definitely blown up and once upon a time, those 2 restaurants were some of the only ones around. But now, I'd pass.

If you're in Rosemary, George's is legit. Stinky's is legit. Le crema is legit. Cafe 30A is legit. Great Southern Cafe in Seaside is legit (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Borago is one of the best italian places i've ever eaten at. Fish out of water in watercolor is really good as well.

red bar is WAY overrated. Bud n alleys has mediocre pizza at best. Their tacos are expensive and unfulfilling. If you have to eat there, thats fine. But there are WAAAAY better options

Café Thirty-A has been our favorite around there for years. We were in Destin in June and found a place not far from there that we enjoyed so much we went there two nights in a row. It is the new Emeril's in the Grand Boulevard development.

None taken. Sorry to see that they've gone downhill. And apologies to the OP for steering him wrong.

I'll stick up for Red Bar a little. It's very solid and consistent in my experience (which like you, is a good bit). I may agree that it's not always worth the hassle, but it doesn't belong in a category with Bud & Alleys.

The latter has never been particularly good and IMO is inferior to almost all other options in Seaside (the real Bud & Alleys, I mean). By all means OP, go get a beer there and enjoy the view, but I wouldn't plan a meal there.

There used to be a really good place called Sandor's on 395 but I think it's no longer there. Anybody remember that place?

I don't, but Seagrove Market on 395 is a good spot for fried seafood in a no frills setting. Not sure it's as good since the expansion but still solid.

I don't know enough about the place to criticize it or defend it, but I will say their tuna dip is some of the best I've ever had. I thought the fish and chips were good too.

Wife and i gave it a shot 2 different times over a couple of years. Each time was a stupid long wait time and the fish was bland, sides weren't good and we were mad we wasted a night of eating at a terrible place. It's all relative. If red Bar was in peadmont, North Dakota, it'd be the best place in town probably, but in the 30A area, it's waaaaay down on the list.

There used to be a place called the Smiling Fish. It was awesome. They were more of a locals only place. They shut down a while back. I'm not positive why, but i heard that they just didn't want to deal with tourists since that area started booming.

Food wise, I've always enjoyed Red Bar. However, not a fan of the whole Red Bar experience, which is wait 1.5 hrs, then have food thrown at you, pay, and out the door 15 minutes later.

The 5 options for dinner is a great idea, but the problem is that they just crank out meal after meal after meal and the process is over so quick. A model of efficiency, yes. But the dining experience is lost.

Food tastes good though
