This is not something I’ve done before and some friends and I want to do it up. What ya got food board? Best experience. Sky’s the limit.

Commanders Palace. Weekends are usually booked at least six months or longer out so try for a weeknight if you need something sooner. It's freaking amazing.

Out of curiosity, can someone participate in the chefs table and ask for little or no fish?

In my experience they will do dietary restrictions, don't make it a surprise for best results.

Yeah, they can customize the menu based on any likes or dislikes.
I forgot to mention that for Commanders, it's for four people and only four people. Of course, everyone has to participate.
It's great because you have your own personal waiter and basically a personal chef assigned to you.

I mean, you usually can, but then why do the chefs table? Short of an allergy or dietary restriction, the fun of a chefs table is to let the chef create the menu and enjoy what is brought out.

If you just want to select your own menu, just get a regular table.

I really don’t mean that in a preachy way, you do whatever makes you happy. That’s just my opinion.

I'm not sure of any other true chefs tables in Nola.
I know Emerils has a dining bar area that looks into the kitchen or something like that.

Another option if you want a great experience is to go to Restaurant August and get the tasting menu paired with wines.

The one at commanders is a ridiculous amount of food. They only serve one fish dish.....there will be shrimp or crab dishes but only one fish. I’ve been twice and both times I wish I had skipped some of the middle dishes once we got to the end.

Yep, it's insane. When they bring out every damn dessert on the menu and lay it on the table I didn't think I could possibly eat any more, but I had to try some of them.

Do they not change the menu?

There are a couple tables in the kitchen at Emerli’s that will rock your boat.

I’ve been a couple times and it was $125.00 person. Wine was about $75.00 or so so about $400.00 per couple plus tip. So what about a grand ? So you might be a little high but close since it’s been a few years for me.

But I will say it’s worth it.

Easy answer - Commander's Palace. Book months in advance, especially on weekends. I have done it twice. Fantastic dining experience.

It’s been a while, but we’ve done Emeril’s chef’s table several times and loved the experiences.
