I get Chris' boudin and cook it in the oven on a pan with a rack for around 40 to 45 minutes at 400 degrees. I like the way it tastes when I do it that way.
I'd do that as opposed to the drive. I need to have a boudin king caked picked up for me from Twin's in Laffy. That is very good.

It's for about 12 of my friends from alabama that I'm hunting w/ this weekend. Guess they won't know the difference.

My personal favorite is the smoked boudin from Bergerons, but Ronnies, Jerry Lee's, and Benoit's all put out a decent product as well. I've never been a fan of Tony's boudin.

Would it be worth the drive for me to go to Ronnie's or the other BR places?

IMO
Ronnie's is the clear #1, the regular is very good but the smoked is better
2. Bergeron's
3. Jerry Lee's - they have arguably the best hogs head cheese on the planet though
4. Benoit's
Chris's and Tony's don't bother

Gonna get 10 lbs regular and 10 lbs smoked.
Anything else I should get?

Ronnie's can go toe to toe with anywhere in Acadiana ither than Billy's.

It's all a matter of personal preference. There are quite a few places I prefer over Billy's. I also prefer T-Jim's hogshead cheese over Jerry Lee's. Once again, just personal preference. Just thankful that I live I a state where these delicacies are abundant.

Try Iverstine Butcher. Easily the best boudin east of the Mississippi
