Johnsons Boucanarie & Graysons are by far my favorite/top 2. Pimanyolis was great for a while, and still very good... But hit or miss. I havent been to Smoking Aces, but will soon

Baton Rouge BBQ? Wayne's BBQ in Livingston or Head West over the bridge to Cou-Yon's in Port Allen.

They are consistently very good. Ive been going there since they were on the corner of Barrow and Tunnel. Mike knows how to run restaurant, that's for sure.

As others have said, Grayson's had the best, imo. Haven't been in awhile, though

Grayson's.
In beautiful Clarence LA near Natchitoches. Used to go there regularly as a child, then popped in 25 years later. It was still just as good.
We got a ham from them last year, and it was fantastic. Probably the best ham I've ever had.
There is a huge wood pile beside it, so you know they're really smoking that meat. If a BBQ place does not have a pile of wood, and there is no smoke smell in the air, keep going. They are using gas ovens.
Grayson's is well worth a side trip if you are in the area. It's the real deal.
Here is a Shreveport Times article about it. LINK

You're not kidding. My favorite in Baton Rouge is actually Deep South BBQ, on the corner of Scenic and Airline (or is it Plank and Airline?). I usually drive to Livingston for Wayne's BBQ if I want some BBQ.

Firehouse BBQ in Watson is one of the best hidden gems I've found. Easily our family's favorite BBQ place.
