I was in the neighborhood making sales calls this morning, since I have not been there in years I had to stop. I got a couple of boudin balls, a crawfish pie and some thin smoked chicken sausage. Only a little of the sausage made it back to the office for me to share. Great stuff.
This kind of roadside treat is the reason I live here.

I bring close to $100 worth of things to Tx. with me every trip. The Cornbread Dressing Stuffed Chickens are great, its has a slight sweet tang to the dressing. I also like the Stuffed Pork Chops, Seafood Stuffed Tater and the Green Onion Smoked Sausage. My daughter and friends at work, like the Beef Jerky. Also a couple bags of Cracklins......like I said $100 worth easy.....

dad, would you say the stuffed chickens are lots better than the one's from chris specialty meats? i've not been impressed with the ones from chris.

I've had both and both are very good. I will pass Chris's on my way to Bergerons. Moonie Bergeron does a good job and has a great selection of products. He makes it too easy to spend a $100...

you're not lying.
I know it's prob not a popular item, and food board taboo to say so, but their premade burger patties are great. I picked them up on a whim one time, and i am ashamed to admit i liked them as much as the ones i shape myself. And yes, i grind my own meat for burgers.

Its true, so true.......you gonna be at the Spring Game?
I use the Green Onion Smoked Sausage all the time, every trip I get a few #'s just to have it around the house.

I'm a huge advocate of Bergeron's and eat there once a week. But, I'm not of fan of their boudin and especially their boudin balls. Too mushy.
But I give a 10 to the majority of their products. Favorites include stuff pork chop plate lunch and for take home cooking is the stuffed fish.

You missed out on the real Monday treat-their plate lunch. Red Beans and Rice and/or the biggest fried pork chop you will ever grab hold of. Ask LSUDad, I've seen one in his clutches before.
Seriously, they have a good burger and it's a toss-up between them and Benoits as to who has made the best smoked venison sausage for me the past couple of years. They also make a chicken "burger" that is stuffed with all kinds of seasoning, ham, etc. Fire that dude on the Foreman to heat up and rock on.
ETA-their boudin is middle of the road, and after eating Ronnie's boudin balls, I might never get them anywhere else.

When I use Bergeron's ham hocks in red beans, there's no comparison. Their ham hocks are quite amazing.

What is thin smoked chicken sausage?
Is it just really skinny sausage?

thinking about taking a ride out there. what are the must gets? how much are the plate lunches? is it as expensive as chris's because that place is pricey.
