Bergerons has some nice products, and that’s not one that I need to have

They are in Shreveport and Bossier too. I go a lot bc they’re the only game in town really. Their boudin is not bad, although I’ve gotten links before with clumps of white rice, like they didn’t mix it well. But their fresh sausages, Tasso, andouille, chicken and pork cracklins, pistolettes all really good.

While true, its just funny to think about

What we do for deer, is turn the oven on high as giraffe pussy broil. That way,. the bacon gets crispy fast and helps to keep the steak from overcooking as much

I guess. Just another thing with lots of people loving on something and you being the contrarian.

Carry on.

Vendors used to bring Bergeron's to us all of the time at work. I like all of their stuff, but their cracklins are my favorite thing they offer.

agreed. Its not SW La. level boudin, but its good enough if you aren't around Lafayette. Hogs head cheese is excellent too.

They offer some great frozen entrees as well. Spinach and Artichoke dip is solid. Sweet Potato casserole is excellent as is their corn bread dressing.

Big fan of their locations in port allen and Gonzales.

Regular boudin is meh
Hogs head cheese isn’t great
Smoked boudin is outstanding
Tasso, cracklings, quacklings, and smoked meats (wings, ribs, chicken patties, sausage, steaks, etc) are all delicious
Boudin balls are just ok
Pistollettes are excellent

The Gonzales location had closed for quite a while due to franchise issue or some crap like that, but once they were open again, it was as good as ever

see, and I think it is. I grew up eating Bourgeois' HH cheese and actually prefer Bergeron's. Oh well, to each his own. Agree on the boudin balls. Not Billy's or Best Stop good, but it'll do.

They had a couple of these in the shreveport area. My favorites are the stuffed ribeyes (cream cheese and jalepenos), the pepperjack sausage, and the spicy smoked wings hot and ready! I found this place at random do tuesday when going to lowes. Dropped $60. Did not disappoint

Mooney's Bergeron's in Port Allen has arguably the best smoked boudin in the world. Also, St Francisville Smokehouse pepperjack stuffed boudin balls are better than anything in Laffy.

The Gonzales location is back in the family now. Stop there every time I go to Cabelas for chicken cracklings, Hwy 415 for lunch regularly. Ridiculous amount of food for lunch. Don’t sleep on the bacon wrapped spinach and artichoke stuffed whatever-chicken, pork loin, veal cutlets. Unreal.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the boneless stuffed chickens. I live on the northshore now, but used to go to Bergeron's in Port Allen on the regular when I was in Baton Rouge.

The boudin stuffed chicken and the shrimp and rice stuffed chicken are both great. Always been a fan of their boudin but agree the smoked boudin is better than regular.

The Covington spot is on my way home from work. Stopped by Monday and got some bacon-wrapped spinach and artichoke stuffed chicken thighs, and a bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin stuffed with pepperjack cheese and jalapeno. All excellent. I've really never had bad food from there and am very happy they're in Covington now.

Just left the grand opening. Peperjack balls and bayou bites are legit. Crawfish pies very good. Meat pies OK, but nothing special.

Will edit later with impressions of regular and smoked boudin. Also picked up some alligator sausage.

Eta: sad to say, the boudin has next to no flavor and is heavy on the rice. The smoked is a little better, but the regular is honestly terrible. Zero seasoning or flavor. Hope they get this fixed and I will chalk it up to opening day.
