Santa Fe Java Stout
Freetail Bourbon Barrel Local Coffee Stout (this stuff is great!)
Terrapin Irish Buh-Bye Wake-n-Bake
Left Hand Black Jack Porter
Bell’s Black Note Stout
8th Wonder Rocket Fuel (this one is right up there with Reve. It’s great!)
Great Divide Yeti & Great Divide Chocolate Aged Yeti
Mikkeller Kaffestout
Terrapin Moo-Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout
Breckinridge Brewery Vanilla Port
Out of those, I have only had the Left hand. It was great. I always want to try the Mikkeller Kaffestout, but I'm always afraid to pay 12-15 for a single beer. Is it worth it?

Murphys is awesome. Got into that when I was living in Southern Ohio about 10 years ago.

I mainly stick on the pale end of the beer spectrum, but sometimes I crave some roasted malts, and when that craving hits, get out of my way. My go-to used to be Anchor Porter, but it's not as readily available around here these days.

It’s good, but a bit pricy. I’d save it for more of a special occasion type beer.
I’d try the Bell’s porters and stouts. Besides Gnarley Barley and Left Hand, they probably have some of the best dark beers.

I tend to go for the stouts when the weather is cold. I live in Virginia. Great breweries around here. I have recently got into beer trading on the Facebook trade groups. I live within driving distance of Aslin Brewing in NoVA and The Veil Brewing which is in Richmond VA. If any of you guys want to trade some great beers, hit me up. I have some local Russian imperial stouts which hit around 14% alcohol.

Will mess you up with the quickness if you're not careful...so will Founders Dirty Bastard and Wasatch Devastator. Great stuff.

Nothing less appetizing on a hot humid night than a 10.5%ABV imperial stout.
I'm mostly an IPA guy these days. Throughout my thirties (I'm 42) I would buy anything and everything I could get my hands on....checking out beer shops all over ATL, when I traveled I'd bring back beers I couldn't get in GA, made beer trades through Beer Advocate to get my hands on crazy stuff. It got to the point that enough was enough....enough money, enough overhyped beers, enough passing on things I knew I liked to try something new. Nowadays, I pretty much drink Sweetwater IPA or Creature Comforts Tropicalia year round with an occasional departure to a limited release, impy stout, or something Belgian.

Bell's ...I know I have had something by them, but I don't remember exactly what that was.

Best brewery I’ve been to outside of Founder’s in Grand Rapids, both have great beer and mass produce.

Preach!! Good barrel aged porters and stouts are works of art!! I have a few blondes in drink when it's hot, but I'm not impressed by the IPA thing at all!! my pack of KBS went great with some tiger baseball today!!

This thread is for me. Discovered long ago (early 1990s) full flavored dark beers and never looked back.
My faves: Spaten Optimater (a bock), Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock, Parish Reve Stout, Founders Breakfast stout, Dragon's Milk stout, Leeuwbock (Lion Bock) in Holland when I lived there.
I've identified that I like a more malty profile, and really dislike the bitter hoppy profiles.
Not a beer snob, but I like what I like.

My first experience with craft beer was with dark beers, stouts and porters. I got into IPA's a few years back and they are my go to beers now. I still love stouts and porters though.
