It's interesting to note that barleywine is not a popular choice in this thread. I'm not a big fan of them unless they're stuck in a barrel. Other than that, way too sweet.

I like and probably drink IPA more regularly but it's tough to be a good stout.

I have had several that I found quite enjoyable.(KY Bourbon Barrel, Karbach Hellfighter) I tend to enjoy brown ales, red ales, porter, as well as a good pilsner (could drink Lone Star all day long).

I usually have about 20 different ones on hand, but brown ales and British bitters are among my favorites. Not a big hop hipster.


I was drinking and smuggling decent beer from across the pond back when most Americans thought Lowenbrau was the top of the line.

I never dreamed then that America would become the high-hop home. It is incredible what has happened to beer in this country, in a great way, in just a few years.
