Izzos
Zea

Byronz Bistro
Serops exress
rotollos
ichiban
maxwells
mellow mushroom
on the half shell.
Wasnt impressed with
Jack in the Box(how does this place stay open)

past times
the burger served at the football games.
walkons
zippys (kind of in the middle on this one)

why do you keep lumping jack in the box in with normal restaurants? you do realize it's a fast food chain just like mcdonalds and burger king, right? what do you expect?
Posted on 3/27/09 at 12:53 pm to jackbnimble
burger king and mc donalds are so much better than jack,
its just mind boggling that anyone would eat that dog shite.
except the chicken fajita pita.

Where else are you going to get your entire taco fried?
One that I don't see mentioned here much that I've always liked is Cafe Americain in the shopping center @ Lobdell and Jefferson.

You need to try a few more ethnic places. In addition to some of the places already recommended I suggest you try La Tiendenta Tacqueria on Siegen, La Reyna on Perkins, any of several Thai and Vietnamese places, Ronnie's for Boudin and Cracklin's and Frank's for breakfast/plate lunches.
For more expensive places you really should try Juban's and Galatoire's. They have lunch specials that are not unreasonable. And Louisiana Lagniappe is worth the price, and not all that expensive.

The place is packed every time I go by there (I live on that side of town). A little more of an older crowd, prolly long time patrons. Still very solid traditional La. seafood dishes every time I go. Its just out of the way for most BR folks and I know its North BR, but they keep a Cop outside on watch.
