I'll be in Baton Rouge for one day and I'm looking for recommendations for places to eat. I'll have a couple hours down time so location of the establishment within the city isn't much of a concern. Thanks!

They have about every chain restaurant so there's that.

I’m guessing this is for lunch? Grab a sandwich at Overpass Merchant. It’s a nice little place where you can sit at the bar and there are plenty of options in the area if you want to bounce around and kill some time.

Looking for a good spot to have lunch that is not a chain restaurant that I could find in any other city.

Was going to be my other suggestion. Eliza is a great pick as well.

Elsie's is a great choice. So are Rouj Creole and Parrain's.

At the present time, I'd say Eliza or Beausoleil.
