Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (Ale on Oak, Gameday, lazy Sunday) (NSFW)

Good morning. I feel amazing. I passed out around 8 with some Chinese food in bed, and I awoke at 6 this morning. What a weekend and what an arse whooping the Tigers displayed!
On Friday, I left work early to catch a drink before the Newman/Riverside game. The gates were packed, so I decided to hang outside and catch a drink with former LSU greats Herb Tyler and Rondell Mealy. Mealy looked like he could still carry the ball successfully. Their buddy gave me a cup of Crown, and I walked into the game.
Since there were so many people, Newman brought in several vendors. I went with this guy who was making pulled pork sandwiches. He competes at Hogs for the Cause. I threw some bullshite about my "team" at him and he gave me the fatty parts of the pork. It was $6, and I think my dad got mad at me for telling him how awesome the sandwich was. It didn't need any sauce.
We left at the half, since it was a blow out. A buddy wanted me to meet him at Ale for his birthday celebrations. He likes beer, and they were giving out pint glasses for some 40 Arpent beer. We beat them there, since his party was dining at Jacque-imo's. Since we were hungry, we ordered a few plates, which consisted of lemon grass wings, fries, ham and gruyere "hot pockets", and hot sausage sliders.
The sliders and fries were the best. I only took a bite of the "hot pocket," since I'm not a huge fan of ham. It was good. The wings were outright nasty. I could smell them coming from the kitchen. The smelled like Shaq's socks and undies after an outside practice in Mid-July. I reluctantly tasted them, but I couldn't get over the smell. I sent them back, and I think the server knew why. I even think the people around us grew weezy when they came out.
We then went home for the night. I awoke at 7 to clean the car, and run some errands before leaving for LSU. Those errands included drinking Beam and making breakfast sandwiches for the car. We made bacon, sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. They were the perfect snack to line the stomach.
We then got on the road and stopped at a gas station on Claiborne. I grabbed a tall boy.
When we got to campus, I dropped my meat off at the tailgate and walked around campus. It was a beautiful day, and I like to shoot the shite with random folks. I met some good guys and gals.
Someone shared these amazing Oreos and Beam with me.
And they had some amazing beans cooking. I loved the sight of the cast iron and magnalite.
I then returned to my tailgate to drink and watch some football. When I got back, I discovered some coonass dropped off some Best Stop boudin. I dove into that shite!
There were also plenty of snacks to go around. Here's where I plug Rouse's potato chips. You can't beat these things. They're a $1. 5 bags are still cheaper than some of the name brand chips. I doubt there are many chips which can compete with these hot and spicy ones.
We were also taking shots of Fireball and this shite called "Loopy." It's supposed to taste like Fruit Loops. Don't try this. It's terrible.
I decided to stay outside and watch the game on the television. So when most people went in, I cooked some stuffed chicken wings, pepper jack chicken sausage, hot pork sausage and baked macaroni. All of the meats were purchased at The Gourmet Butcher Block in Gretna.
The meal was great. My mom's baked macaroni scored major points too. My favorite of the two sausages was the pepper jack chicken. When I was in the store, I saw some huge lady order it. I knew it had to be good.
It was also some girl's birthday. They brought a strawberry Ambrosia cake. It was awesome. Happy birthday, London.

After the game, I meet up with my boys and we ride back to NOLA. We found a huge bag of popcorn. It wasn't that bad.
When I got home, I passed out.
On Sunday, I went to mass. I had a surprise party to attend at Amelie at 11. Mass generally gets out at 10:30, so at 10:45, I said "frick it" and left. I barley made it to Amelie on time.
The boys made the table look spectacular. They also brought out some champagne and various pastries. I'm not much of a champagne drinker, so they made me some satsuma old fashions.
The nutella pastry made me weak in the knees.
I ordered the muffaletta. The bread was perfect, and the warmth of the sandwich took it over the top.
After a few more rounds, we retired to Lafitte's to drink some more. I got a few Beams and loaded up the juke box. Magic must have been in the air (except for the Saints). The boys started flocking in. It must have been my play list.
I had to go to the little boy's room. I think someone from the OT knew I was in the bar.
After Lafitte's, we went home. Around 7 I decided to order some Chinese and call it a day. I'm not familiar with ordering at Chinese places. I just assumed all meals came with fried rice and an egg roll. I also thought these meals were about 7/8 bucks.
I placed an order for mandarin chicken, orange chicken and sweet & sour pork. When the food arrived it was $43 and weighed about a ton. I'll have Chinese food for the week.
I made a plate, and got in bed to watch some tv.
Stay fat, my friends.

Nice weekend.
I was at Ale on Friday night, and left around 8:30. Did you like the 40 Arpent Octoberfest?
I never get the food at Ale, but a friend of mine got violently ill after one meal.

I'm not a beer drinker, so don't take my opinion seriously. I didn't like it.
I got there around 8:30.

What kind of biscuit did you use for your homemade breakfast sandwiches? Looks tasty as hell.

Those hot sausage sliders and best stop boudin were the best 2 things posted IMHO. Ill have a large satsuma old fashion as well.

Sorry for the slight thread hijack, but I know everyone views your fatty rewinds on Mondays...
Does anyone know why my "How would you BBQ Bob?" thread got deleted?

That big arse bag of popcorn brings back memories. When I was @ ULL I worked at the Cajun Dome... and had access to those 20lb bags. One winds up at my appt on Harding St for a party... the next morning when I walked in the living room it looked like it had snowed 4" of popcorn all over everyting
Miserable clean up...

I hear these are great. I have been looking for a good biscuit I don't have to make from scratch for white sausage gravy.
