I’ve used my XL air fryer maybe twice so I’m unfamiliar generally
I have a pack of wings that my wife paid 24 friggin dollars for so if it’s low quality I’ll just use the traeger

Don't have an air fryer of my own, but had dinner at a friend's house a couple weeks ago and he smoked them first then air fried them for a couple minutes to add a little bit of crispiness. they were delicious.

My wife got an air fryer about a month ago and has done wings in it 3 times already. The last batch were very good---well seasoned, crispy skin and still moist on the inside.
She got a HUGE bag of wings from Costco's frozen food section and they are nice size wings and already cut in two.
Just let the defrost, season and put in the air fryer.
The only seasonings she used were salt, black pepper and garlic powder. If I want hot wings, I have homemade habanero hot sauce to toss them in or for something a bit sweet with some bite, I also make a habanero pepper jelly.

am air frying wings tonight as a matter of fact. I go by this.
Great write up. Cheers for the link
How liberal should you be with the baking powder by the way. Light dusting?

The air fryer she got has several pre-set time and temperature settings for often cooked items.
I do know the temperature for wings on the fryer is 400 degrees and I believe the pre-set time is 20 minutes or so.

Absolutely, it sucks that wings have become so damn expensive though.

Since we got the air fryer, I havent dropped wings in the actual fryer we have.
They are very good in the air fryer and easy clean up

Yeah my wife doesn’t pick the wings up usually. I’d have probably passed on 4.29/lb oh well

on the weekends (when i have time), i like to grill wings then finish them in the air fryer. i'm not much of a cook yet but they get rave reviews every single time.

I’ve had a lot of success doing wings in the air fryer. They always come out crispy but juicy.
I like to brine my wings overnight and pat dry. Add dry rub if doing a dry rub, throw them in, done.
Super simple and delicious.

i think good wings are one of the go to things they do excellent.
my only problem is most air fryers are small batch so you have to cook so many batches of wings.

100%.
Season them with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme and put on a wire rack in the fridge uncovered for a few hours. When ready to cook make sure to cover them in baking powder.
Air fry on 400 for about 8 minutes per side, then 4 per side on 450 at the end. Check the internal temp and adjust as needed.
Do wings this way a few times a month.

I love to do wings in it. I like to preheat for 2 minutes first. Season the wings really well in misc. dry seasoning. Place in air fryer in single layer. Air fry 10 minutes.
Remove, flip, go 8-10 minutes more. Toss in your sauce and finish them off 2-5 more minutes to get the sauce to turn to more like a glaze. Hit them with the sauce one more time before serving.
Cooking them those last few minutes with the sauce on them is the game changer to me.
