What should go there? Anything but another specialty burger joint. A good BBQ place would be nice, as I loathe Voodoo.

Flying Saucer... or something similar and local.

I finally get to post my Applebee's poll pic from a Houston news station

I'm more interested in this comment. What all have you tried there that you didn't like? I could see "over-priced" or even "overrated" but "loathe" is a strong word.

Well that didn't last long.
Probably be a chain restaurant again. Landlords want the warm and fuzzy feeling the the chains give them from the steady and reliable lease payments.

They closed?!?!
"Applebee’s Grill & Bar on Bluebonnet Boulevard at Perkins Rowe closed Monday, leaving a vacancy in the development."
Looks like they closed May 30th.

I can see a Flying Saucer/similar working well there.

Is the space big enough for a Flying Saucer?

They're not all the same size as downtown Houston's. The Sugar Land location is tiny.

If they go chain a Yard House would kill there.

That TV and TV stand sure do look familiar...

It's the size of an Applebee's, I'm sure they can make it work. Will never happen though, because that would just be too awesome.

Yard House
We have one here in downtown Seattle. That place absolutely kills it here. The food is a little meh. I found a hair in my food 2 weeks ago when I went there with some colleagues. Its pricy, around $7 for a beer and $15-$28 for an entree, however their beer selection is enormous. They have like 100 drafts on tap from around the world.
I was unaware of the Applebee's closing as well. I was in BR 1.5 yrs ago finishing up at LSU and that spot was always busy. I wonder what happened. BR peeps love Applebee's.

I've never been in... so I don't know.
I imagine if it was an Applebee's it could work with some remodeling.

It's Baton Rouge, so it'll almost certainly be a chain.

Maybe a burger chain should open in that spot. BR does not have enough of those.
