Good bourbon especially for mixers at ~ $24 per bottle...
Just a little background for you...
William A. Goldring (born 1942/1943) is an American billionaire businessman, chairman of the Sazerac Company, and head of the family that owns Sazerac, the second largest spirits company in the US.
He was brought up in New Orleans and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Tulane University.
Goldring is chairman of the Sazerac Company and of Crescent Crown Distributing, the second largest beer wholesaler in the US.
His grandfather, Newman Goldring, founded Sazerac in 1898 in Pensacola, Florida.

That’s just insane sounding to me. I literally just pulled a bottle of Sazerac Rye and BT off the shelf at the Super1 in Scott. There’s plenty of it.
believe me, when we relocated here a few years back it was quite a shock to me as well.

It's a serviceable, affordable option.

Good IMO, especially for the price.

has gotten pretty hard to find.
Really? Every grocery store in Lafayette has it?
Hell! It's at Walmart here.

It’s a very good bourbon
I wouldn’t say it’s solid because it’s a liquid
But pretty damned good

Alabama you can't find it besides at a bar, and even that is pretty rare now.
It is one of my favorite bourbons, pound for pound. Used to be my go to purchase for my just normal drinking bourbon.

I agree that it has something to do with allocation.
Costco, Total Wine, and Albertsons will go weeks at a time with no bottles of Buffalo Trace, and when you ask them, they have no idea when they will get more.
Then all of a sudden, they will all have new stock.
Maybe your store and others just don't move a whole lot of BT, so they never run out ?
To the OP, BT is very good for the price (19.79 at Costco, 21-ish at Total Wine, 24 everywhere else).

If you are a bourbon enthusiast it will be acceptable...esp for the price. If you like good bourbon but really just like something good to drink that tastes good, is smooth. gives a nice buzz, and doesnt give a hangover? BT is great.

BT is my go to if it's stocked. I used to be able to get it whenever but Dallas Total Wines don't get a large allocation apparently because it's in & off the shelf within days of them receiving it.

BT is what I buy when I splurged on the previous bottle and I feel guilty. $24 bucks and perfectly fine to sip neat.

It's okay for bourbon, but it's good for the price. I've bought and killed 2 bottles personally, but really only bought the 2nd bottle because it's a bargain buy. Though I've only had shelf turds, and no store/barrel picks of it to compare to.
For that $25is dollar price range, my favorites are:
114 Old Grand Dad
Elijah Craig

It's the the well liquor at any respectable establishment,
the call liquor at low end places
and top shelf for the derelicts on this board...
But seriously, very affordable and approachable.

Everything gives you a hangover, once drunk, when you are approaching 40.

I'm with you but in Dallas EC you can't find under $28. It's in the Basil Hayden class of bourbons.

I thought this thread was a troll.
Of course I/we have tried it. It's an excellent lower cost bourbon. The distillery makes a few others people may know...Pappy Van winkle, Eagle Rare, Blantons...
