You've all seen the videos on YouTube ... bag of potatoes into a bucket, filled with water, brand new unused toilet brush mounted onto a drill, and the brush is spun through the bucket of potatoes and peels them all in under 60 seconds.

Have any of you tried to replicate this and been successful? Because I tried more than once and I'm starting to feel like I was punked. Maybe I need a stiffer brush?

Yeah, you tell him! If the OP is making potato salad for 200, shame on him for not wanting to hand peel 50 pounds of potatoes. FFS!

If I'm in a situation where I need potato salad for 200, I'm outsourcing that.

For fricks sake.

But if the toilet brush and the bucket worked, you wouldn’t need to.

Don't you have some bacon curing hill to die on? Why split your valuable energy here?

Anyone "outsourcing" potato salad, eating, or serving potato store bought salad in a bucket should not be giving anyone on this board culinary advice ... "for f@ck's sake."

I have a vegetable peeler. I peel potatoes. No sweat. But like someone else pointed out, if there's a quicker easier way to peel potatoes 5 pounds at a time right there in a bucket in the sink of the wash room right next to my kitchen, I'm doing it ... because I got better sh!t to do.

Some of ya'll just look for anything to be adversarial or contrarian about. "Oh, just peel your own potatoes." If you're saying you would RATHER sit and peel 5 to 10 pounds of potatoes instead of just spinning them clean in 60 seconds tops, you are full of sh!t.

Ya'll are the same kind of guys that tell people to not use canned chili on a hot dog because it's too easy to make your own chili from scratch ... to top off a HOT DOG .. the king of trash processed meats. GTFOH and go get your head outta your @ss.

Resers. I used to live 4 blocks from their HQ in Beaverton, OR. Used to shop in their outlet store. They are located directly across the street from the Nike WHQ. One more useless fact for your edification.

On THIS food board of all places?

I’ve never peeled a potato in my life.
the peel is a feature not a bug, especially in potato salad

I sous vide my potatoes at 75 degrees for 96 hours and then let rest overnight on a rack in the fridge. Then i use a standard vegetable peeler.
