Anyone know where I can buy quality meats in or near New Orleans?

Looking to smoke a bunch of ribs next weekend and I’d like to cook up something a little nicer than what we find at the groceries around town.

I’m not a big rib shopper, but I would think Chris's Specialty Meats.
Dorignacs and Langeinstiens generally have good meat departments for grocery stores

Unless you're buying some heritage breed of pork or what have you, there's not going to be a huge difference in what you find in the grocery stores vs. what you find at a "quality meat market". Ribs especially, given you season the hell out of them and likely sauce them, are not a cut to spend a bunch of money on.

They’re ribs. Over night seasoning and constant temp have a better result than a butcher shop name.

I dated a girl with the last name of Wagner in high school. Turns out that not only can you not beat Wagner's meat, they won't beat yours either.

Piece of Meat Butcher might have some heritage breed or something from a semi local farm.

Check out JV Foods. They have a weekly list on Facebook and you can pick up out by the airport, or they will deliver over a certain amount.

Great quality stuff, but you pay for the good quality. Local farms mostly, but what isn't local is still high quality. They mainly do restaurant supply, but they started selling to the public during the pandemic and have kept it up.
