Got a couple of racks of ribs on the pit. Had a cry-wrapped package of pork tenderloins that I needed to cook so I opened them up to throw on the pit. This is what I found...meat chunks. Full of fat and silver skin. Trimmed them up until I got tired of fooling with it. Just seasoned them up and threw them on the pit. I don’t even remember where I bought them and the label gives no clue. I feel violated! :)

Could have sliced them thin, stacked it on a skewer, and made some great al pastor. But I would have been caught off guard as well. Certainly not normal.

Bought tenderloins there plenty of times and never got this. But I’ve had a number of people say that’s where I got them, so it’s probably so. Seems that they could indicate this on the labeling, though. Also, didn’t really notice the price until I took the photo.

Yeah, somebody just pointed out that’s in fine print at the bottom, I missed it. We’ll just blame Jack, although I wasn’t drinking when I took the picture. I am now, though. :)

Happened to me last weekend. Got them from Champagne’s. Never seen it before. And I was not a fan.

Those are sold as pork tenderloin tips at other places, which I agree are a pain to clean the silverskin from. Apparently someone at Bohning printed up the incorrect label.

Super 1 in Carencro used to label something similar as tenderloin tips and sell them dirt cheap. I'd stock up and make a big gravy when feeding the fam. They are pretty good. I've also used them in chili and ragu
