Athens GA, for decades, had 4 waffle houses and 1 Denny's and 1 IHOP.

Athens GA now has 6 waffle houses, 2 IHOP's, and zero Denny's.

The people of Athens GA have spoken, and they have spoken the truth.

Does the fact I highly enjoy most of those places mean I’m trash?

Olive Garden in Lafayette is pretty damn decent for a chain restaurant.

We appreciate that Cracker Barrell has a personality. You could be dropped in the middle of one and know exactly where you are. If only the quality of the food were as strong as its commitment to branding, maybe the chain wouldn't be on this list. The fact that almost 100 percent of people eat here only when they're on the road and have limited options says everything you need to know about the food served here.

Maybe that’s why a lot of Cracker Barrell aren’t that far from a major roadway. That little paragraph comes off like some entitled arse hat.

Cracker Barrel should be nowhere near that list. The author sounds like a anti southern racist

Olive Garden is fine too whoever wrote that is an idiot

You might want to check your grammar before calling someone else an “idiot.”

Olive Garden is straight up garbage.

I’d bet he’s under 30 and has no concept of business models.

Agreed. The conclusion made by the writer is stupid. Locals are more than happy to eat at Cracker Barrel if they actually live near one.

If they don't live near one, then it makes it a bigger deal to go when on the road. My family and friends are more than happy to drive a few extra miles or stop early if they're getting hungry and a Cracker Barrel is close to an exit.

Have an upvote for calling them "chained restaurants".

That Olive Garden is straight up trash. It is not. Is it 5 star dining, no. Does anyone expect it to be, no. It is decent for what it is. Any of their pasta dishes (not shrimp) are serviceable. The salad is good along with the breadsticks.
