Full Story
None of these are a surprise, especially # 1. I will say that Olive Garden, for what it is, actually does a decent job with their Alfredo sauce, salads, and bread. Their Chicken Alfredo won't win any awards, but it is more than serviceable.
The same can be said for several of the items from The Cheesecake Factory.
I haven't eaten at a BWW, Denny's, or IHOP in years. If I am eating wings, I will go to Hooters. Say what you will about Hooters, but I actually like the taste of their chicken as it is breaded in-store, and the clientele is, dare I say, better than what can be found at your local BWW.
For breakfast that is quick, consistent, and relatively inexpensive, it's hard to beat Waffle House.

BWW is such a sad shell of its former self.

I'm a little surprised by Cracker Barrel there. For an inexpensive breakfast that doesn't have a Waffle House around, I think it does exactly what it needs to do.

I don't get the Cracker Barrel hate, honestly. Pancakes and fried apples are pretty tasty. Not to mention I'm never really concerned about the clientele.

In fairness, this is pretty much how CB is described in this (absolutely horribly written) article.

Is this a knock off of Cracker Barrel?

Whole article looks like someone's opinion who probably only eats at local restaurants and named off every popular chain they could come up with. OG is not bad at all. By no means is it close to authentic Italian food, but it does the job for an affordable price. I do think Applebee's is pretty trash. Golden Corral is for cheap/poor people. IHOP being on the list and NOT Waffle House in this current economy is actually insane. BWW is as mentioned, a shell of its former self. Chewy wings but the sauces are still good. Cheesecake Factory is solid for how massive the menu is. Never had a terrible meal there and the atmosphere is always great.

Surprised Olive Garden is on the list. It’s always been solid.
Outback (not on list) has really gone downhill over the years. Last time I went to Cracker Barrel everything tasted weird, like some cleaning chemicals had spilled into the food.

On the contrary, WH is the absolute worst of all the chain breakfast places. The lowest quality ingredients, poorly cooked, with the worst clientele. Denny's embarrasses them with the consistently better quality of their Slams. It's more expensive there, but you get what you pay for

That list is shite. None of those places are great, but those can't be the "worst."

Chilis should be on that list over olive garden

Olive Garden is awful. It is a puppy mill for breadsticks, crummy soup, and crummy alfredo.
Anybody who thinks Olive garden isn't bad has never had anything approaching real italian food.
Also Olives grow in orchards, not gardens. And Spain and Greece grow more olives than Italy.

It's breakfast food. The ingrediants are the same everywhere. It's a fricking egg, and bacon, and cheese, and potatoes, and toast or biscuits.

Without clicking on the link (I will after this comment), my personal Top 3 for worst:
IHOP
Applebees
Golden Corral
And it’s not even close.
I agree that Olive Garden is actually pretty darn good for what it is, and it’s usually consistent regardless the location.
Ate at an Outback in Plano this past summer. Probably first time in about 10 years. The wings were still pretty tasty.

Yea it's ashamed. Back in the day, they it used to be a great place to go catch UFC fights or Saints games.

I mean if you just want carbs grab a sack of doritos.
Seriously find a good italian spot with decent noodles and sauce and it will change your perspective. If you were in my neighborhood I'd have you over tonight for some homemade red sauce on top of good copper-cut noodles (the copper dies are porous which means more sauce clings to the noodles) boiled al dente, and then some venison sausage and peppers.
Olive Garden is to italian food what Dennys' is to country food. It's not even good (compared to waffle house). It's like finding some restaurant in suburban Minneapolis that puts overcooked chicken in their rice and calls it Jambalaya.

waffle house is not only a fantastic breakfast its a good enough option any time of day. theres one 5 minutes from my house that is on our regular dining out rotation

I do not understand the fascination with Waffle House, especially now that its prices are comparable to IHOP and the quality is worse IMO.
Maybe back when you can get a whole breakfast for $5 was it worth it.
