I just read the review tonight and mentioned to my wife how critical it was. Usually they at least mention one positive thing about a place.
Funny thing is the place is always packed and been in business for several years

I'd rather eat a handful of my own shite than return The Melting Pot

but at the melting pot ? I've never been, but those pics make me think I would leave hungry after paying $175...
I remember my parents taking me 25+ years ago, when I was under 10. I liked what I had. We had a few courses. I thought it was awesome getting dessert in between them. Then I asked my parents when dinner was coming, and realized I'd had. We stopped at Burger King on the way home, and I wasn't a fat child.

Women love this place....men don't

In 2002 it was the fancy place.
You had Ruffino's and it was a long drive, Cheesecake Bistro was sort of nice and Melting pot.
Not many options for a "nice" dinner.
And Ruth's Chris but I never liked steakhouses.

It's overkill on the negativity. If it was clever and witty, and made the reader think, it would be fine.. It's lame. however.. and embarrassing for a legitimate Baton Rouge news and entertainment source.

It took years of complaining to get The Advocate to write critical reviews, they have just started doing it in the last couple of years.
This is what I find most amusing. It used to be a common joke on this board that Advocate reviews of restaurants were useless, because they were always puff pieces, no matter how terrible the experience. Now that the Advocate is putting out negative reviews, they are ruining local businesses. This is made all the more comical considering The Melting Pot is a Florida based franchise chain

Melting Pot is so over priced. It’s cheap cuts of meat dipped in cheese and preys on people who don’t know what fine dining is.

The Advocate isn't suitable for lining a bird cage.
I disagree. My Parrot soils The Advocate nicely. Actually improves it.
