I wonder if being so far from LSU plays a part. That side of town doesn't have the concentration of young people (18-25) that other parts have, which is what you mostly see in restaurants.

That is right near the country club plus all of the new subdivisions they put in, they have plenty of young people. Maybe rich entitled people who have no work ethic though

Yeah, I guess that's more what I meant Restaurants don't let high school kids wait tables, usually. And you don't have a ton of college students living on that side of town.

True.. but I guess I assumed this was mostly married people with better jobs. Not people who want to wait tables.

What places would you say “crush it” with service in BR?

I thought the EXACT same thing.

The restaurant itself is nice, but no need to sit the two-tops so close. This isn't NYC. There is plenty of room and it makes a lot of people uncomfortable sitting less than 3 feet away from another party.

The service was horrible...and I rarely complain about the service anywhere. My wife ordered a French 75 and I ordered a dry Martini. It was if we ordered some exotic drinks no one had ever heard of. The waitress asked us to point them out in the menu to "see if they had those". When she shockingly realized they did, in fact, have gin and vermouth apparently hidden somewhere in the bar, the drink was tiny.

We had at least 4 different waiters come to our table 4 different times with orders than weren't ours. Same story each time..."Uh, did you order the ___"? Same story for the couple sitting next to us. It was if the waiters just picked up an order and walked around blindly until they found out who it belonged to. The app (raw oysters) came about 2 minutes before the entrees, leaving a huge oyster tray on the table and nowhere to put the entrees.

The food was ok, but the experience wasn't worth a $100+ tab

Places that I've had amazing service, and when I say amazing I mean smiling faces, menu educated, legit cocktails, coffee and water refills without nagging or made to feel like a victim. In no particular order, Gino's, Ninos, BRQ, Ruth's Chris, 18 Steak, Sullivan's, Mansurs, and K-Street.

Places I avoid like the plague unless I am sitting at the bar because the service is so spotty Chimes East, TJ Ribs, Pelican House, Copelands, Rum House, Broken Egg, most mexican restaurants...

My family and I went a couple of weeks ago. Daughter ordered the soft shell crab poboy. The legs tasted fine, but the body was horrible as if it was spoiled. Waitress took care of it, but no manger or chef came to apologize. Wife got short rib pasta. Not much flavor, and the carrots were crunchy.

They’re working the kinks out. It will improve. Too much potential out there for a good restaurant.

This is not going to happen now. The owners that were involved and looking to form a new business backed out due to the complexity of having multiple numerous business partners and spouses.

Yep. Don't believe you'll see an announcement about that though.
