So, I had to go to Rush Hospital today to have my monthly blood work done - PT/INR - my level should be 2.5 - 3.5 because I take warfarin for my synthetic mitral valve and the very thin blood keeps a clot from forming on the carbon fiber valve leaves, then breaking free and killing me.

I was gone for a while and left the wife at home because she had "Stuff to do". When I came in my heart leaped for joy:

At the sight of the stew pot on the stove.

Love that girl!!!!

What special treat had she planned for my supper tonight? Maybe Chicken and Dumplings (yum) or a stewing hen for Chicken Tetrazzini (yum yum) or a pot of Momma Bear Soup (maximum Yums). I called and She wasn't around. I guess she was upstairs, and so I decided it was safe to steal a glance.

What could it hurt to take a peek?

Be still my heart. There will be some good grub tonight. Glad I had a light lunch so I can chow down regardless of whatever delicacy she has planned. Love that woman (MHNBPF).

Love

Love

Love

What the heck?

And with me trying as hard as I can to be a more righteous man.

Oh well, anyone know how to serve up a Hotpot of kitchen towels? I have no idea what rust remover and towel whitener tastes like. Is there any way to get them tender?

Otis?, OG?, Miss Darla?, Gris Gris?, Anyone?

Any Ideas for a side dish?

I feel your pain. We went to a party in rural Mississippi to meet my sister-in-law's fiance. When we got there I saw a big crawfish pot boiling away and I thought "I like this guy already".

My hopes were dashed when I found out they were boiling peanuts, the nastiest redneck crap of all time. I never liked that jerk.

Because she is...

Not good enough answer?

They get dingy from low levels of rust in our rural water system. and periodically she does this to make white towels whiter and colored towels brighter. The stuff she uses does work at rust removal, and it works better if the water is very hot. I am a chemist and should give a more technically competent answer, but I am sorely disappointed and slightly depressed at the moment.

I know.

The spoon is to push them back under when they try to come up for a breath of air.

Wooden because we are probably dealing with toxic (scratch that in favor of Chemically reactive) chemicals. If the EPA or MDEQ is listening, I was just joking.

MHNBPF

May Her Name Be Praised Forever. She and Jesus are the certainties in my life. She has been a wonderful gift of God to me - for 44 years she has put up with me like some out of control craft project.

I have those towels in red stripe. I have many towels. I've never boiled them, though. If they get dingy or stained, they depart to the be used as some other cleaning tool or go to towel heaven.

I'm sorry you're not having something yummy for supper. Pizza delivery night?
