Willie Mae's at #1 is laughable. It's not even the best in New Orleans.
Gus' should be #1.

Food is so subjective. threads on here that ask what is the best ----- are so dumb.

I like McHardy's as an example of the thin-crusted, "dusted" ultra cheap chicken...but I swear, some of those chickens must really be pigeons. SMALL pieces.
Chicken Sue's used to be the best around. Not sure who's holding the title at present--I've been avoiding fried chicken for a while.

I’m a Willie Mae’s believer.
That’s shits good.

+1
Just give me a 10 or 15 best in no particular order.
Like asking for the best burger in New Orleans and expecting one answer.

I went to Fiorellas on Franklin a few weeks ago. That's some pretty good fried chicken.

I've had Marcus Samuelson's fried yard bird at Red Rooster in Harlem and I've purposely never recommended it in any New York restaurant thread.
And some of the chicken in the other photo's is so pale and anemic and sad.

Was wondering if they would include this one. Very legit!

It may be a dirty old café at the foot of the old bridge, but the Stockyard's Fried Chicken is hard to beat.

I had the fried chicken dinner at David Chang's place in NYC and it was the best fried chicken I have ever had.
Tough to get the reservation for it but well worth the time it took me to do so.
I do not get the love for Willie Mae's. Tried it three times and the only thing I thought was great were the sides

I've been wanting to try the fried chicken. Momofuku is freakin amazing.

Before I clicked on the link I thought "if Monte Ne isn't on there, they didn't explore very hard for this list."
And then looky there.
And then looky there.

This fried chicken, and the ribs they also had the day I was there, was so good.
